Enjoying Anacortes, Washington

If we had to pick one place that felt most like home to us it would have to be Anacortes, Washing. Sounds strange to some, I know. Especially given the not so great weather a good deal of the time. But it’s so quaint and laid back that it’s hard not to fall in love with the area.

We’ve been staying at the Fildalgo Bay RV Resort since the beginning of February and I dare say I’d be happy to stay another month or two. But, as is usually the case, we never know exactly how long we’ll be here before we head to the next job.

I thought I’d take a few minutes today to share a few pics from the area.

Home is where we park it …

Having the gazebo really makes a big difference in our comfort level outdoors. So we always try to get one when we can.

Flowers in February, gotta love that!

We took a hike up to Mt. Erie a couple of weekends ago. It’s the first time we’ve been up there. The view was fabulous so I’m sure we’ll go back.

We enjoy walking around the loop at Washington Park as well. We had some sunshine on the day we went last time.

I’ve posted pics of Deception Pass before. But it’s too pretty there not to post a couple more. 😉

The Tommy Thompson Trail runs by the Fidalgo Bay RV Resort and we’ve been making the most of it while we can! It’s perfect for leisurely walks into town and quick bike trips to the market for odds and ends … and the views aren’t too shabby. 😉

The trail goes through a couple of dry storage areas for the marinas and although you can’t tell in the pics, the area is abuzz with boat prep for the season.

While these boats are still waiting for their trip to the dock, we did see some gorgeous vessels on one of our rides into town.

Sea what I mean? It’s really hard not to fall in love with this place! I asked this guy and he said he thought it would be okay if we stayed here for a while … just sayin’. 😉

That’s all for now. I hope wherever you are you’re enjoying the beauty around you. 🙂

  1. Wow! Sweet place. Great photos! Must be an awesome area if you would stay. Looks like a great place to visit, so if you ever do settle there let us know.

    • Thanks FLB! I think I’m getting a little better with my camera on my phone. 🙂 The place is awesome and we love it here. But the thought of really actually settling down for good anywhere … not so much. Not yet anyway, still too much to see. You guys should definitely put this on your list of travel destinations though if you get to the west coast! 🙂

  2. We have sailed in and out of Anacortes during our summer sailing trips for 20 years. Seeing your pictures really brings in home. Can’t wait for summer.

    • Oh how nice! The marinas really are pretty and seem to be meticulously maintained and manicured. It must really be incredible here in the summer. The latest we’ve been in this area has been April 30th so far. Maybe this year it will be a little later. 🙂 Thanks so much for stopping by and taking the time to comment.

    • Thank you! Yes, the gazebo really does make a big difference with all the rain here. We’ve actually been really fortunate this stay though. We’ve had more sun than rain the past few weeks. I hope I didn’t just jinx us! LoL 😉

All comments are appreciated! Go ahead... tell me what you're thinking :-)
