Thankfully, a trip back east to see family and friends was in the cards this summer! After nearly a year, it was great to see everyone. I’m not sure how the little ones have grown so much, you know… seeing as I’m still only 39! 😉
First event on the schedule was a welcome home/birthday party for my youngest son, Nick! He was able to take some leave and come home from Afghanistan for two weeks and I have to say it felt wonderful to have him back on American soil!
Nick and Lil Bit (a.k.a. Liz)
other baby oldest son, Rob was there with his wife as well. 🙂
Rob and Annie
Lil Bit’s parents have a beautiful home and it’s a wonderful spot to have gatherings. Their outdoor kitchen including a pizza oven is to die for! I somehow managed to miss out on the pizza. Hopefully next time!
I was also able to catch up with my sister Jennie and her family this trip. I know I’m a
tad bit very biased, but I have to say I have the most amazing, adorable, intelligent nephews on the planet!
My nephews :-)
Play-Doh time with Auntie!
Not a bad piggy if I do say so myself! – – weeeeeeeee!
Brothers and Sisters…
Awww… miss my sibs already :-(
Great dinner with an interesting slide show of Nick’s travels…
We also got to spend some time at my brother’s house, but unfortunately not on his boat this time around.
A few of my favorite men!
Uncle Lenny playing doctor… lol
Not surprisingly, Nick had the lowest blood pressure.
Hey look at that! I was caught with a bottle of water in hand. Hmmm… unusual… lol
Of course after Nick took his uncle for a ride in his new, custom ordered Mustang, my poor brother looked a little pale.
Nick’s new ride…
Lenny being comforted back to a resting heart beat by his best doggy friend, Elvis
“It’s okay, you’re home now.” LoL
Next stop – great friends of ours, Lenny and Yancie’s house to visit with them and their amazing little ones!
What a cutie pie!
Man it seems like just yesterday Rob and Nick were running around like that – non stop :-)
Lenny took us out for a little four wheeling expedition. Good times!
Cooling off the engine
Yes, we went through that. It was actually one of the more shallow spots we hit.
I have to admit that being out in the woods did make me a little homesick for New England – just a little.
Okay, on to the guns. As is usually the case, the boys got to do some shooting at our good buddies John O and Becky’s place. Just the hand guns on this little visit.
Gosh… I remember the days when I was afraid to let them have water guns!
My daughters-in-law… a.k.a. the get-a-way crew? (lol)
It was a great trip! Just like any awesome visit, the time went way too fast. Already looking forward to seeing everyone again soon!
Before I forget, even though I don’t have pics, seeing my BFF’s like Lynn G., Lisa B., Mike C., – and of course, John Z. and Crew at Mystic Pizza was the cherry on top of the sundae!
This last picture was taken as I was following Nick home to his place. The sky was amazing and I just love this shot.
There’s nothing like a good visit to make you feel like your’e still “home” and part of an amazing family no matter where your travels take you.
That’s all for now. As always, thanks for stopping by!
