Proper Tire Size and Rating – Have you checked yours lately?

Breakdown Of Car. Red Warning Triangle Sign On Road

Hi Gang,

Just a quick post today to remind you about the importance of having the proper tires on your rig and tow vehicle. When we purchased our new HOW last month we made sure to have the dealership replace all five (the spare as well) with new top rated tires.

Because we wanted to make sure they were a good quality and load appropriate, we ordered them and had them sent to the dealership for installation at our cost. Unfortunately, sometimes the dealers will try to get away with a lessor quality product and obviously that’s not an option for us as we’re traveling full-time.

I bring this up today because with springtime right around the corner (here’s hoping!) many of you might be getting anxious to get those extra wheels rolling. While some of us might be old hands at making sure all is well with the rubber beneath our precious rigs, some might need a little guidance.

Here’s a >>>link<<< for a nice little article about selecting the proper tire size and rating from Kevin at Big Brand Tire Service. Just so you know, I’m not affiliated with this company, or Kevin, but when I received an email from him directing me to his site I thought it might be a good reminder for us all.

The last thing anyone wants is to have to deal with a blow out on the side of the road in East Bumsquat or worse yet in Friday rush hour traffic outside Atlanta. (Yep, been there, done that!)

As much as we all do what we can to avoid being stuck on the side of the road, it’s important to make sure we have the proper safety equipment with us just in case it happens. These are a few of the items we keep on hand easily accessible by both of us in the cab of the truck.

Guess that’s all for now folks. I hope springtime really is just around the corner and you folks getting hammered with snow and ice can get your rigs out on the open road soon!

~Cheers~
